CQ NURSE EDUCATION

CQ Nurse has a commitment to both its’ nurses and the facilities that it contracts to, in providing professional development opportunities to maximize the performance & benchmark the services our nurses provide.  Given the agency specialize in regional, rural and remote locations across Australia; the nurses employed by CQ Nurse already have a high clinical skill set and experience in their specialty area of choice.

The agency has employed a dedicated ‘Education Coordinator / Clinical Nurse Consultant’ to ensure that these skills are maintained and there is support available for professional growth to be expanded on.

When working for, or employing CQ Nurses, you are guaranteed that mandatory training has been/is provided and currency in knowledge & skills is reviewed annually.  Mandatory training offered includes Basic Life Support, Medication Administration, Workplace Health and Safety, Fire and Evacuation, Manual Handling, Infection Control and Occupational Violence Management to name a few.

Once our nurses have achieved this training, we continue to support professional development by career planning with the nurse, sourcing education opportunities to advance skills and further their education in areas relevant to their profession/specialty.  CQ Nurse also provides financial assistance to our nurses to attend external professional development opportunities, through a generous education assistance scheme.

As well as its comprehensive approach to Mandatory Training, CQ Nurse facilitates regular seminars for the benefit of not only their nurses, but all allied health professionals interested in furthering their education.

In 2009 topics included an "ALERT" seminar which was presented by the renowned Critical Care Education Services Team in Mackay in June. This event was a resounding success and the overall feedback from our nurses and other attendees was extremely positive. Thank you to all of you who were able to participate and increase your knowledge and skills.

November 12th & 13th 2009 saw us holding the next CQ Nurse education seminar, this focused on the interpretation of "12 Lead ECG's". CQ Nurse sourced the renowned Marea Reading to conduct this workshop, which was designed for nurses who required knowledge and skills to interpret a normal 12 lead ECG and to recognize deviations from normal.  Close to 40 delegates attended this highly successful seminar.
