CQ Nurse launches sister community support organisation

The 100% Australian owned premium nursing agency, CQ Nurse, has just launched its sister company, Alliance Community, and kick-started its national rollout in Mackay, Queensland, last Tuesday, 8 May 2018, with a launch party.

Alliance Community, like CQ Nurse, is part of Health Solutions Group Australia which has offices across the country, with 130 years’ of collective experience recruiting Australia’s best team of nurses, aged care workers, disability support staff and other specialist support staff.

The launch, highlighted the whole of community approach that Alliance Community is championing, beyond its exceptional aged care, temporary assistance and disability support services, to ensure that whole communities are accessible.  This approach includes specialised services provided by Alliance Community’s Disability Inclusion Officer, dedicated to helping businesses cater for people living with disability; both in employment and by ensuring their products and services are accessible.

Held at the Ocean International Hotel, the event boasted a number of special guests to celebrate the occasion including local Mackay Mayor, Greg Williamson, Julieanna Gilbert, Member for Mackay and Assistant Minister for State Development, and local vision-impaired artist, David Conway.

Mayor Greg Williamson gave a powerful speech about the importance of community support and the degree to which organisations like Alliance Community are critical to strengthening communities and creating jobs. While David Conway, who requires a wheelchair following a major accident in 2004, showcased a selection of his artworks and spoke of his story and the importance of support workers like those that exist within Alliance Community. David pursued his artistic profession after his accident; a step forward he contributes to the support of his family and the encouragement of one of his support workers.

Alliance Community, which is now replacing CQ Nurse In-Home care, offers support with daily living activities, meal preparation, domestic support, shopping, companionship, travel and transport, development of life skills, high and complex care services, and respite support. Alliance Community also offers long-term careers with opportunities for training and gaining formal qualifications as well as ad-hoc shifts with minimal experience required.
